About Granite Boatworks
Scott Roberts, owner of Granite Boatworks, Inc., got his start in the recreational boat business at age 18, in 1978, working part-time as an apprentice technician at a marina near his home in upstate New York. Trained by some of the finest professionals in the marine industry, Scott turned his passion for boating into a lifelong career dedicated to keeping his customers' vessels safe, reliable, and properly outfitted. In 1991 he moved west to the Puget Sound region of Washington state with a position at Lake Union Sea Ray as Service Manager, and then north to Lopez Island in 1996 as Service Manager at Islands Marine Center. His ambition since childhood to establish a marine business motivated him to make Granite Boatworks a reality in early 2005.
